Command Sergeant Major Jonathan D. Dyon enlisted into the United States Army as an Infantryman in 1998.

He served in every leadership position in the Infantry from Team Leader to Brigade Command Sergeant Major.

His notable assignments include Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Weapons Squad Leader with 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd ABN Division; Drill Sergeant with 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment; Platoon Sergeant 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th ID; First Sergeant with 5th Ranger Training Battalion; First Sergeant with 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th ID; United States Sergeant Major Academy (CL 68); MLC-DL, NCOL COE; BN CSM of 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Battalion (A), 173rd IBCT (A); USAG Italy CSM, and the Task Force Sinai CSM for the Multinational Force & Observers. He has deployed on two occasions to Iraq and two to Afghanistan.

CSM Dyon’s military education includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Advanced Leader Course, Maneuver Senior Leader Course, 1SG/CDR Course, Sergeant’s Major Course, Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officers Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Jumpmaster School, Mountain Warfare School, Pathfinder School, Sapper School, Ranger School, Tactics Certification Course, Army Basic Instructor Course, Air Movement Course, and the Common Faculty Development- Instructor Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas El Paso.

CSM Dyon is a native of Modesto, California, and is married to Josie Dyon. They have three children: Janica, Clarissa, and Noah.
