Description:
The Flame Resistant Environmental Ensemble (FREE) offers comfort and functionality in and out of aircraft, and armored vehicles. It is a comprehensive clothing system from next to skin layers to outerwear. FREE is compatible with current issue personal protective equipment. All layers of the FREE system incorporate flame-resistant technologies. FREE will replace existing aviation and combat vehicle crewmen cold weather clothing. It is color-compatible in Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) with ground Soldier uniforms. The system’s adaptability gives Soldiers more personal protection choices, a crucial factor in responding to current threats while facing extreme climate conditions.
