Individual Soldier Hydration

Individual Soldier Hydration

Mission:
Provides the Soldier with a portable means of water carriage for individual hydration.

Description:
The Wide-mouth One-Quart Canteen is a rigid, semitransparent plastic container for everyday hydration. The cover has an outer pocket for water purification tablets. It attaches to the Soldier’s equipment belt or load-carrying equipment.

The Two-Quart Collapsible Canteen is a flexible plastic container for everyday hydration. The canteen cover has an outer pocket for water purification tablets. Soldiers can carry the canteen over the shoulder using a strap. It can also attach to the Soldier’s equipment belt or load-carrying equipment. It collapses when drained for less bulk.

The Cold Weather Canteen is a wide-mouth, one-quart, semitransparent plastic container used in conjunction with an insulated carrier to ensure sufficient Soldier hydration during operations in extremely cold environments (minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit). The insulated carrier attaches to the Soldier’s equipment belt or load-carrying equipment. This item is no longer in production.

The Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE) Hydration System is an ergonomically designed water bladder with carrier, can be worn individually or integrated with load-bearing equipment or web harness systems. The bladder includes a drink tube with bite valve, a positive shut-off, and an exterior fill port. The MOLLE Hydration System is not meant for use in a chemical environment. The carrier consists of abrasion resistant 1000D Cordura™ nylon, has a sternum strap for added stability and has a handle for filling on the go.
