Through Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PdM SCIE), the Army is seeking industry feedback on the All-Range Tactical Clothing (ARTC) system. Input is requested on Technical Data Packages, the first Apparel Tech Pack and Digital Apparel Tool outputs for cold-weather protection layers designed for Arctic and Subarctic operations.

The team at Small Arms Fire Control (SAFC) has met a multitude of achievements in
the last few months with their new Family of Weapon Sights-Sniper (FWS-S) system.
The FWS-S system is mounted in-line with a sniper’s day optic on the M110A1 Squad
Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) and the MK22 Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR). The
FWS-S provides the sniper with infrared (thermal) imagery in all weather conditions,
through obscurants, and under all lighting conditions.

The All-Range Tactical Clothing system, formally known as the Cold Temperature and Arctic Protection System (CTAPS), is a multi-layer collection of cold weather garments designed to provide the wearer environmental protection in temperatures ranging from 45 °F to −65 °F. When an early spring hit the usually frigid interior Alaska at Arctic Regions Test Center, the test pivoted to a climactic chamber at Yuma Test Center.
